About the author
I have trouble describing myself in a few words--I'd love to use something such as "a beautiful dichotomy." Unfortunately, barely controlled chaos may be more appropriate. As the title states, I am married to an auctioneer. Together, he and I operate one of the largest and longest running merchandise auctions in the Southeastern United States. We have two beautiful children, operate a goat ranch, and, more recently, have started a hay farm. This is blog is all his fault! Until Daniel and I started dating, I had a plan--college, climb the corporate ladder, shatter glass ceilings, retire to my horse rescue facility, and then, when boredom overtook me about 6 weeks post-retirement, the plan was become actively involved in politics and pursue becoming governor of the great state of Georgia. I fell in love with my fast-talking auctioneer, and I learned very quickly that life is less about plans and much more about flexibility. On this blog, expect to find my opinions on college and education, feminism, animal welfare, child-rearing, coping with grief, and learning how to throw out the plan book and be content. I love discussion and look forward to any and all feedback you may have. Happy reading!
